SUMMARY:Steam at Ribblehead with the Yorkshire Drone Flyers
DESCRIPTION:A chance to join club members at the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to capture steam crossings. \nNorthbound trains are usually between 11:00 and 13:00\, and southbound trains between 15:00 and 18:00. So we are generally there mid-morning to late afternoon\, with ‘opportunities for other flying’ in-between the northbound and southbound trains\, or a trip somewhere for lunch. \nAll British Drone Flyers and BMFA members welcome\, stout footwear and suitable clothing for changeable weather are recommended. Friends and family also welcome\, plenty of advice and assistance available and the opportunity to try flying a drone too. \nCar parking at https://maps.app.goo.gl/mkVEG3FPpJYTAUyy6 \nPlease RSVP below if you would like to come along. We generally make the go/no go decision the day before after checking the weather forecast.

However these arrangements will be dependant on the weather conditions and competitor numbers\, and may change accordingly. \n

DESCRIPTION:SGDC is proud to be hosting the country’s only Global Qualifier again for the 4th year.\nThis year we’re very happy to announce we’ll be running it as a British Qualifying Event also\, at our home – Yate Outdoor Sports Complex. This will be the UK’s first combined BQE and GQ event. \nWe are limiting this event to 30 pilots to ensure that we can get the maximum packs to contribute to the GQ & run Mains. \nEvent location – https://yate-outdoor-sports-complex.co.uk/ \n  \n\n  \nImportant Info \nBeing a dual BQE & GQ\, we’ve been granted permission to run the BQE utilising your SINGLE FASTEST 3 CONSECUTIVE LAPS time gained from the GQ format to seed the Triple-Mains for all. \nYour final position for the BQE will be earned in the usual fashion during the Main you have qualified for. \n  \nThe event may run a little longer due to us wanting to provide you with as many GQ packs as possible up to the maximum of 10\, the maximum pack count may be reduced inline with the BQE guidelines to ensure Mains are run\, thus fulfilling the final event standings. \n  \nWe’ll be running the Summer Global Qualifier track: Gecko – It can be found on Velocidrone. \n  \nMultiGP and BRDA craft specification differ slightly when you get into the realms of 7 inch props – if you would like to run to MultiGP spec\, you may not be eligible for BQE qualification/Mains. We will be using an authorised modified BDRA BQE race format (qualifying rounds leading into triple finals for all mentioned above). \n  \n\n  \nOn Site Facilities  \n  \nOur onsite Cafe/Bar will be open all day serving a range of hot/cold food and drinks. \nWe have great toilets & facilities with onsite parking\, lots of comfy cafe space & sheltered stadium seating. \nVenue capacity for mains charging is available within reason. \n  \n\n  \nEntry Fee \nEntry fee is £30 and there will be a £2 discount with BDRA membership. As this is a non-IMAC day\, we will need to respect any club flyers who are present and give them priority.\nSaturday (Training): Pilots briefing at 9am\, if you can’t make this time then please let me know as we can accommodate late arrivals as its only a training day.\nSunday (Competition): Pilots briefing at 9am\, wheels up as soon as possible after this\, please have your model assembled and failsafe check signed off before this. We aim to start the competition immediately after the briefing is finished\, there will be no additional time to assemble models as we’ll get straight into it. \nCamping\nAnyone sleeping in a tent please use the grass in the extended car park\nAnyone sleeping in a van/car please use the hard standing car park\nNearest hotel is Holiday Inn St Albans ( www.ihg.com/holidayinnexpress/hotels/gb/…ns/ltnst/hoteldetail )\, this is literally a 2min drive from the field \nFood\nBBQ ~1pm Saturday\, ~7pm Saturday and ~1pm Sunday – £10 per meal (£30 if you wanna go “all in” for the 2 days) (burgers\, hotdogs\, drinks\, cakes\, jacket potatoes\, beans\, cheese\, desert\, cakes etc.) Extensive menu for all meals as usual\, you won’t go hungry (includes veggie options). Lucie my partner is organising all of this\, if you have any special dietary needs please let us know on the day. Please post here to let me know if you want food as we’ll need to organise in advance. \nAs we have no flying restrictions Friday and Saturday evening\, this will be a stay and fly event so feel free to bring fun fly or electric to relax or fly some freestyle in the evening too. Strictly no night flying due to site restrictions. \nFacilities\nLarge\, well maintained grass flying field with an L shaped patch allowing for a variety of unrestricted approaches\, the club regularly has large models so large models will have no problems flying from this site.\nClub house with Tea and Coffee making facilities\, fridge\, TV\, Microwave and sofa\nOutside electric charging points providing both 12v (for bullet connectors or crocodile)\, plus external 240v sockets supplied from the grid.\nToilets – Urinal onsite only\, but we have an arrangement with the De Havilland Aircraft Museum across the road for anything more substantial.\nFlying is permitted sun up to sun down\, any size and type\, normal common sense applies.\nMcDonalds\, large M&S and Sainsburys on the M25 J22 roundabout within 5min drive of the field\nPetrol can be purchased from the Sainsburys garage in the same location.\nOver 20kg models are permitted\, a club representative will want to see paperwork in addition to usual IMAC requirement. \nThe following Certificate requirements have been set for the 2024 season. \nTraining\nBMFA A Certificate \nCompetition \n\nBasic\, Sportsman and Intermediate – BMFA A Certificate\nAdvanced and Unlimited – BMFA B Certificate

DESCRIPTION:A chance to join club members at the iconic Ribblehead Viaduct in the beautiful Yorkshire Dales to capture steam crossings. \nNorthbound trains are usually between 11:00 and 13:00\, and southbound trains between 15:00 and 18:00. So we are generally there mid-morning to late afternoon\, with ‘opportunities for other flying’ in-between the northbound and southbound trains\, or a trip somewhere for lunch. \nAll British Drone Flyers and BMFA members welcome\, stout footwear and suitable clothing for changeable weather are recommended.
